LHCPG proudly becomes a CPD accredited provider as it expands its training offering
We are thrilled to share that LHCPG has recently become a CPD accredited provider and can now offer training under the CPD certification service.
CPD stands for Continuing Professional Development and is used by professionals who wish to develop and enhance their abilities by taking on a series of learning activities. Those activities can take several different forms such as seminars, workshops, training courses, events or various other study methods.
Those studying for their CIPS accreditation and those within the retrofit and decarbonisation areas of procurement and construction can particularly benefit from LHCPG’s initial accredited training course, which was first launched at the Homes UK / Unlock Net Zero event in London at the end of November.
The course – An overview and awareness of pre-retrofit property condition considerations – covers essential maintenance and practises to improve building comfort and fuel efficiency, focussing on preparing homes for energy-efficient retrofits. Issues such as draughty windows or damp, which can impact heating efficiency, will be covered and resolutions to address those issues explored prior to major upgrade works. In addition, the importance of sound maintenance will be explored and how it can achieve effective, long-lasting retrofit results.
Alongside the CPD certified training, LHCPG also launched its very own virtual reality (VR) education tool. With software developed exclusively by LHCPG, the VR experience walks the user through a tour of a real home exploring ways in which a building can be fitted with decarbonisation and energy efficient measures to improve the EPC rating of a property. The ‘actual reality’ approach of the learning tool, allows the user to see ‘real life’ examples in situ throughout a family home and offers a clearer sight into how such measures can be used to full effect.
The VR adds an additional education tool to LHCPG’s expanding training programmes and can be utilised in support of the wider retrofit and decarbonisation conversation.
