Social Value

Social Value is at the core of everything we do here at LHC Procurement Group.

In addition to providing our clients with competitively tendered Frameworks for building works, goods and services LHC is committed to delivering tangible social value and community benefits in meeting local and regional needs.

LHC work with our clients and appointed companies to ensure that wherever possible projects delivered using our Frameworks leave a social legacy improving the economic, social and environmental wellbeing of individuals and communities.

Our mission is to Improve lives and places through quality procurement solutions by maximising public benefit, re-investing surplus in communities, and through living our values.

Published in March 2024, our three-year Social Value Strategy defines our social value priorities and how we will work with our partners to deliver them.

Social Value Priorities

We have identified three social value priority areas that, as a provider of construction frameworks in the public sector, cuts across all areas where LHCPG support and deliver.

  • Individual Wellbeing

Enhancing the health and quality of life for individuals by supporting initiatives that promote wellbeing and address local needs.

  • Planet & Environment

Promoting sustainability by integrating environmental considerations into procurement practices, developments, and supporting projects that contribute to environmental wellbeing.

  • Social Mobility

Creating opportunities for economic impact including engaging small and mediumsized enterprises (SMEs) and fostering employment prospects within local communities.

Community Benefit Fund

Partners in each region have the opportunity to create and distribute a Community Benefit Fund. The fund is generated from the rebate partners receive if they spend over a specified threshold on LHC frameworks.

An additional community benefit fund is available to LHC Board partner organisations. We work with partners in each region to find a local charity partner who can help them distribute grants to worthwhile projects and causes. Projects and causes must meet specific criteria determined by partners, to ensure the Community Benefit Fund is used to support local needs and objectives.
