Meet our Board of Directors - Emma Chawner
Board Spotlight: Emma Chawner
We are proud to have appointed Emma Chawner as a non-executive director.
Emma’s extensive experience within education is ideal for helping us to gain an even deeper understanding of that sector and its unique challenges.
We asked her the following questions.
Can you share a little about your professional background and expertise?
I have worked in children’s services for over 20 years. This has included local government children’s services in policy and strategy development for safeguarding.
In the more recent eight years, I have worked within education for a multi-academy trust in a strategic role, leading on the trust’s finance, resources and business operations, including procurement.
What attracted you to LHC Procurement Group?
I was attracted to LHCPG for its commitment to being not for profit and generating meaningful social value.
I also feel passionately about its aims to provide quality and value-for-money procurement frameworks in the public sector.
What is your role on the Board, and where do you envision LHC Procurement Group in the next three years?
My role at LHCPG, as a non-executive director, is to provide strategic expertise from within the education sector.
The aim is to support LHCPG to gain a stronger foothold within education as well as its broader sectors by utilising the procurement frameworks for its commissioning needs.
I am also supporting and promoting LHCPG as a trusted brand across the country in what may be an already saturated market.
From your perspective, what are the key priorities for framework providers?
To be as simple as possible to use, especially when it comes to quality, guarantees and price.
What are you passionate about outside of work?
I am passionate about family time, long walks with our family dog, keeping fit, and socialising with my friends.
